Purchasing a firearm from Green Mountain Tactical is pretty much like purchasing any other item, with two important exceptions. First is the requirement to ship to a dealer with a valid FFL. The other quirk is the restriction on shipment of handguns.

Firearms can only be shipped to the holder of a valid FFL (Federal Firearms License). In most cases this will not be you, but don't worry, this is a very common and easily handled situation. You need to find an individual or dealer who has an FFL. Typically, this will be a local gun shop or pawn shop. Get them to fax a signed copy of their FFL to us at 970-493-3205. Once we have their FFL in hand and you have paid for the firearm, we will ship it to them, and they will transfer it to you.

The other quirk to a firearms purchase is how the weapon is shipped. Long guns (rifles and shotguns) can be shipped like any other item, and we typically ship them via UPS ground (unless you select a faster method). Handguns (pistols and revolvers), however, are required to be shipped next day air by those major carriers who will allow handgun shipments. This means UPS and FedEx. This can be quite expensive, ranging up to $50 to $60 for a typical handgun. For this reason, we only ship handguns via USPS Priority Registered Mail. This is completely legal when shipped between two dealers (us and your FFL holder). The only added expense here is the Registered Mail fee, which runs about $12. You will note that all hanguns incur an additional $10 charge to offset this fee.

Unfortunately, there are no returns on firearms. Once we ship it, it is yours. The only scenario where you might legitimately wish to return a gun is if it was broken, nonworking, or damaged. Warranty issues are handled through the manufacturer, and you can typically ship to and receive a firearm directly from the manufacturer without the need to utilize a dealer for a transfer. If the firearm is damaged from shipment, please contact us directly. We will handle this situation on a case-by-case basis. Note that we only sell brand new firearms, and do not test fire or otherwise verify the functionality of them. This was presumably done by the manufacturer before the gun was shipped.

(1) You must have your local dealer fax us a signed copy of his/her FFL. Our fax number is 970-493-3205.

(2) Handguns automatically incur a $10 extra charge to cover Registered Mail fees. They will automatically be shipped via USPS Registered Priority Mail regardless of which shipping method you select. This does not apply to shotguns or rifles, which are shipped via normal UPS methods.
