Before you start, take note of the retaining pin located on the back of the bipod, as shown in the picture. When you remove the two retaining nuts, this pin will be loose, and can fall out if not held in place. Be sure to hold it in place after removing these nuts.

On the front of the bipod are two retaining nuts on a threaded post that serve to maintain pressure on the swivel mechanism. You will first remove the inner hex nut using a 1/4 inch hex driver. You should then be able to remove the knurled outer nut by hand.

This picture shows the nut driver being used to remove the hex nut. Note that some drivers and sockets are thickwalled and may not fit into the recess containing the hex nut. The driver from Wheeler Engineering's gunsmithing screwdriver set works well.

Once the two nuts are removed, the threaded post is exposed. Don't forget about the retaining pin going through the post on the back of the bipod. Don't loose it!

First, place the spacer over the post. Then screw on the handle until it tightens up against the spacer. Finger tightness only is sufficient.

The picture above shows the finished installation. With the bipod legs open, tighten the handle sufficiently until the bipod will not swivel. The handle position is then adjusted by pulling it out away from the bipod body, rotating it to the desired position, and releasing it. Looking at the front of the bipod, you will generally want to align the handle to be parallel with the right leg. Then, in use, you rotate the handle back towards the left leg, adjust the bipod's swivel, and retighten the handle.
